Day 2 of monitoring the ROTSE-III telescopes. I kinda like it. Except that I can't yet tell which errors are worthy of bugging the post-docs.

Becky & Charlie got married this weekend. Every so often I start thinking about what that really means and get kind of scared. Forever is a long time. I firmly believe in it, but I don't understand it. My own parents got married after dating for just over a year. That seems kind of fast to me. I dunno. My longest relationship lasted about 3 months, so I assume that it's just lack of experience talking, but I have trouble picturing myself as loving and tolerant enough to be with someone long term.

I had a lot of fun though. Much dancing to silly country songs and catching up with old friends.

I wish them the best.

A few things:

I am guessing that Eli passed today with flying colors
Don't ever worry about bugging people and asking questions. Eli can be quite ornery, but don't worry, that's just Eli.
Once you meet the right person, it will all be clear. And trust me, you will meet the right person.

My parents got engaged less than six months after they met, but they didn't tell anybody for a year. (They were married a total of two years after meeting.) I know what you mean though, especially as I begin to contemplate the idea myself. On some level it feels right, but every little thing starts to scare you and give you second thoughts. Who knows where this road leads....
